Jesus the Good Shepherd stays close to his sheep. Congratulations to the children who received Holy Communion for the first time at St. Peter’s this weekend! Congratulations also to their families! “We are God’s children now. What we shall be has not yet been revealed.” The Eucharist is God’s pledge to us of future glory. It is a beautiful thing when Jesus comes to us, to the sheep of his flock. Next Sunday First Communions will be at St. Joseph’s 10:30am Mass and at St. Julie’s the following weekend. Parents note when the practice is.
On Thursday night Fr. Mike Pucke will be recognized at Su Casa’s banquet for his work with the Hispanic community at St. Julie Billiart parish. Su Casa is the Hispanic Outreach of Catholic Charities of Southwest Ohio. Many people are thankful for Fr. Mike’s efforts to be shepherd for all the people who live in and around Hamilton.
Next Saturday the archdiocese is hosting a men’s conference; Gerry Faust is one of the speakers. For more information see https://catholicspeakers.com/cincinnati-mens-conference
This weekend’s readings show us Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Please pray that I and other pastors would serve with the Heart of Jesus the Good Shepherd. It is also a time to encourage young men to consider becoming priests and shepherds with the Heart of Jesus.
Be thinking about bringing your kids or volunteering with our Vacation Bible Schools this summer: June 25-29, evenings at St. Joseph and July 16-20, mornings at St. Peter’s. If you want to help but are not VIRTUS trained, a training will be offered at St. Joseph next month.
What a joy to be among you and serve our great and caring God!
