Today begins Catholic Schools week. We are fortunate to have two Catholic elementary schools and a Catholic high school within our pastoral region.  It takes great commitment to make them what they are.  I am thankful to the parents and teachers of EPIC and PTO and friends of Badin who support our kids.  It is a joy to serve the kids in our schools and in our Sunday PREP program.  Yes. A joy!  We offer our schools as a support, while the primary teachers are still the parents.

I am thankful for those who came out to the pray at the courthouse on January 22. The attendance was a little light this year, but I will blame it on the rain (and not announcing it well).  We still have a ways to go before the weakest of our country are protected.

I am thankful for the members of the regional faith formation team who met this past Thursday. Look for bulletin announcements from them in the next two weeks.

Unfortunately, the parishes of our region were not in a financial position to hire a youth minister. However, I would like to have an informal Sunday afternoon Q & A with high school students on February 11.  Time and location are yet to be determined, but I hope to follow it with an open gym.  Ask your son or daughter if they would be interested.

This week I will be on retreat in St. Louis. It is important because burnout is a real danger without prayer.  Please pray for me.  I will pray for you.

What a joy to serve the good God.

In Christ,

Fr. Rob
