Many people enjoyed a Night at the Races this weekend at Badin High School.  It was sponsored by one of our parent-teacher organizations.  I’m proud of the efforts to support Catholic education in Hamilton and Butler County through the two grade schools of our region and Badin High School.

I hope you are also enjoying the benefits of Daylight Savings Time.  The daylight makes me want to be outside more often.  It can be a good opportunity to take up running, biking or other outdoor sports for wellness.  (I don’t know what day of the week it would be, but I would enjoy ultimate frisbee in Joyce Park.)  We should care for the body that God has entrusted to us without neglecting our spiritual soul.  Enjoy the spring and the days ahead and God’s gift of the light.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation and the grace of the sacrament are a great help in caring for your soul.  If you missed our pastoral region’s penance service this past Tuesday, the penance service at Queen of Peace is on Monday of this week.

This weekend the elect who are preparing for baptism will receive the first of the three scrutinies.  This weekend at St. Peter’s 11am Mass .   Next weekend at St. Julie’s 9:15 Mass and at St. Joseph on March 29 .  Please continue to pray for them as they prepare for baptism.

Next weekend is a second collection for Catholic Relief Services.  They are also the beneficiaries of Lenten Rice Bowl.

In our first evening of the Alpha course, Nicky Gumbel asked, “Is there more to life than this?”  If you think the question is worth investigating, you can look it up on YouTube.  If you want to hear more, it is not too late to register online and join us this Wednesday. (This has been postponed since being written. Stay tuned for updates.)

To our Irish Catholics, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

In Christ,

Fr. Rob
