I am away this weekend at the Genesis Conference hosted by LifeTeen. Our youth ministers, Randi Hom and Liz Larson, are also attending as we continue to launch LifeTeen youth ministry in our pastoral region. What an opportunity for our parishes and for our youth! The high school program will kick-off the year on Sunday, October 21 with a scavenger hunt across town. The junior high program will kick-off on Sunday, October 28 with a unique and memorable encounter anticipating All Saints’ Day. Save the date and look for more information to come!
On Sundays we continue to hear from the letter of the apostle James. He speaks very straightforward about how Christians are to conduct themselves. Sow peace in your homes this week by using kind words and by being less envious and more willing to share.
A lot of hard work, love, and dedication goes into our Catholic parishes and schools. This Thursday Badin High School will honor some of our outstanding men and women who reflect in their lives the motto to serve God; serve others. They have given back to Badin High School and to our local community. Badin’s Hall of Honor banquet is this Thursday, 7pm at the downtown Marriott.
Consider enjoying the afternoon, early evening downtown. The city of Hamilton is hosting the Bridging Neighbors event this weekend on the Main-High Street bridge. Come anytime after 4pm on Sunday, September 23.
The 30-day challenge for men is starting every Monday at MenRiseUp.org. (There is a cost) Pick a buddy or a son and go for it – be a better son, brother, husband, father.
